1.Do not rely on this service as your only way to call emergency services
Keep a mobile phone or landline available for emergencies. Emergency calls (such as 911 in the United States) may not connect, or may connect to the wrong emergency center, in the situations below.
2.When emergency calls can fail
- Power outages: desk phones, routers, and computers stop working without power or battery backup.
- Internet or network outages: calls cannot be placed if your internet connection, network, or our service is down or congested.
- Account suspension: calls may not work if the account is suspended or a number is not active.
- Device problems: calls depend on the app, browser, or device being installed, signed in, and working.
3.Your location may not be sent
The service may not send your location automatically, and it does not know when a user moves to a different address. Emergency operators may not be able to find you. Always tell the operator your exact address and call-back number, and stay on the line.
If your organization needs registered dispatchable locations for emergency calling, contact us before deployment. Do not assume this is configured.
4.Emergency numbers by country
| Country or region | Emergency number | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| United States and Canada | 911 | Kari's Law and RAY BAUM'S Act require direct 911 dialing and dispatchable location on multi-line systems in the US. Register an address for each user and site. |
| India | 112 | 112 is the single emergency number. Calls from internet-based services may not reach the nearest response center. |
| European Union | 112 | National rules decide how location is sent for number-based calling services. |
| United Kingdom | 999 or 112 | Ofcom rules require location information for providers of number-based services; you must keep your address up to date. |
| Australia | 000 (112 from mobiles) | Calls from internet-based services need a registered address. |
| Other countries | Varies | We do not provide emergency calling in countries where we have no carrier arrangement. Check with us before use. |
5.Your responsibilities
Tell every user about these limits, place a copy of this notice near phones where practical, and keep an alternative way to call emergency services. Where the law requires it, you are responsible for configuring direct emergency dialing and notification for multi-line systems, and for keeping addresses current when people move.
6.Acknowledgement
By creating or using a Callfora workspace you confirm that you have read and understood this notice and accept these limitations. Vedatra Scalable Stacks Private Limited is not liable for any inability to reach emergency services through the service, to the extent the law allows.
