Register before you text: business SMS in plain language

Carriers filter business text messages that are not registered. Registration tells them who you are and what you send, so your messages are delivered.

Real Callfora workspace. Carrier registration is required before business SMS is accepted.

What registration is

In the United States, texting from a standard business number (10DLC) requires a brand registration for your company and a campaign registration that describes the messages you send.

Unregistered traffic can be blocked or heavily filtered, even when customers asked to hear from you.

What you need

Your legal business name, tax ID, address, and website, exactly as registered with the government.

A description of your messages (for example appointment reminders or customer service replies), sample messages, and how people opt in and opt out.

How long it takes

Brand checks are often quick. Campaign review usually takes several business days and can take longer if the reviewer asks for changes. Calling works while registration is pending.

Common reasons for rejection

A website that does not match the business name, missing privacy or opt-out language, sample messages that do not match the use case, or prohibited content categories.
