1.Where we stand
In the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and similar markets, internet-based voice that reaches subscribers is a regulated activity that must be provided by or through licensed operators. We do not provide public voice service in these countries ourselves. Use the service only with numbers and connectivity supplied by a licensed local operator, or for internal use that the regulator permits.
2.Data protection and recording
The UAE PDPL treats voice recordings as personal data that needs a lawful basis, clear notice, rights handling, and safe cross-border transfer; executive regulations are still being finalised. Free-zone regimes (DIFC and ADGM) have their own data protection laws. Saudi Arabia's PDPL has been enforceable since September 2024 and restricts transfers abroad without conditions. Qatar and Bahrain have comparable laws. In all of them, tell callers when you record, use recording for stated purposes only, and keep it for a limited time.
This page is a general summary of how Callfora approaches the law in this region. It is not legal advice, laws change, and your obligations depend on your own facts. Ask your counsel before relying on it.
